Representatives of Voices of Wannon met with the Member for Wannon Dan Tehan at his office in Hamilton yesterday. Voices of Wannon community group members, Martin Slocombe and Genevieve Grant presented the Federal member for Wannon with the recently published ‘What Wannon Wants’ report. The report is the culmination of six months’ work by the group which held 26 kitchen table conversations involving over 150 participants from across the electorate and received online responses from a further 100 community members.
The top four issues identified in the report were Climate change and the environment; Housing, homelessness and social inequality; Accessible health care, and; Increased investment in public education. "Unfortunately Mr Tehan did not commit to take action on the priorities identified by the community." Genevieve Grant said.
